This set of 4 VelocityAP lowering springs reduces ride height by 25MM (1") at the front and rear of the Aston Martin DB12 Coupe.
VelocityAP springs exclusively use high-quality, high-stress X5K Spring Steel. Although considerably more expensive than regular steel, this new-generation steel allows VelocityAP to improve further on the original Aston Martin DB11 spring design by reducing the amount of steel required in each spring. VelocityAP springs are therefore lighter and have a reduced solid height, increasing travel. X5K Spring Steel is used in almost all top levels of motorsport, providing a highly successful endorsement of its characteristics and proven durability.
In addition to the superior material, these springs use a unique manufacturing process that distinguishes them from most OEM and aftermarket applications: a Tapered Wire Progressive Rate design. By using tapered rather than constant-diameter spring wire, VelocityAP springs achieve a genuinely progressive spring rate throughout their compression and travel. The spring rate increases when needed during cornering and decreases when it is not, providing a smooth and supple ride over bumpy surfaces.
Through this unique manufacturing method, VelocityAP can achieve a substantial increase in spring rate with significant handling benefits and no loss of ride comfort. As the spring de-rates, the shock absorber no longer struggles for rebound control, improving vehicle stability.
