This is not a direct replacement part. It requires supporting products and modifications to the OEM tensioner bracket.
As VelocityAP has continued to develop the JLR supercharged engines, extensive data logging and R&D have revealed a weakness in the OEM supercharger belt-drive system. VelocityAP's upgraded tensioner helps combat belt slip, but even this upgraded design can experience some slippage under the harshest conditions involving high heat and load. At the upper limits of performance, every detail counts.
This kit re-engineers the routing of the supercharger belt drive for a much more efficient belt path. The selected tensioner works in the opposite direction to the OEM tensioner and routes the supercharger belt under the upper idler pulley, adding belt contact to the supercharger upper pulley.
VelocityAP's bracket connects to the mechanical vacuum-pump location and alternator mounting locations to provide a secure mounting position for the new tensioner.
Late-model-year vehicles, generally facelift 2021–2022-on, using OEM electric vacuum pumps can fit this kit without adding a vacuum-pump kit. The mechanical pump is present but not connected.
Early-model-year vehicles, generally pre-facelift 2013–2020.5MY, using OEM mechanical vacuum pumps can fit this kit but must also use VelocityAP's mechanical vacuum-pump delete kit.
Installation requires removal of the OEM tensioner bracket and grinding of the mounting face for clearance.
