Most modern intake systems are difficult to improve. With modern CFD and injection-moulded plastics, OEM systems generally offer good airflow without significant restriction or compromise. However, enthusiasts often want more induction noise or supercharger whine than the OEM system allows. Rather than producing an aluminium system that could suffer from heat soak and limit intake volume through tube sizing, VelocityAP created a complete 3D scan of the vehicle and designed a much larger-volume intake in 3D space.

This provides the supercharger whine owners seek without concerns about heat soak or restricting intake volume below the OEM specification.

There are also instances where greater-than-OEM volume may be required to support further performance improvements. For example, the stock intake may be perfectly adequate on a 340BHP base vehicle but may not provide sufficient airflow on a more heavily modified one.
