Scuderia Autoart, KW, and BBS success at Bathurst 12-hour 2023

At Scuderia Autoart, we live and breathe motorsports.

We were thrilled to be a part of the electrifying 2023 Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12-Hour race. We returned as major sponsors of the race in partnership with KW suspensions and BBS wheels for the third year in a row. This year we took our involvement to the next level by sponsoring a dynamic privateer team consisting of top drivers, Chaz Mostert, Liam Talbot, and Fraser Ross. Competing in a sleek Audi R8 LMS, the "Sportsbet 65 car" was adorned with our vibrant branding, including the race number 65, creating a stunning sight on the track.

The Bathurst 12 Hour is a global spectacle, attracting the best drivers and teams from around the world and this year's competition was no exception. Our sponsored team made a lasting impression. Chaz Mostert's impressive qualifying performance saw the "Sportsbet 65 car" secure a stunning 5th starting position, making them the only privateer to break into the top 10 starters, surrounded by factory teams.

The race was a thrilling showcase of skill and determination from the team with Chaz setting the pace early on, claiming the fastest race lap for the second time in his career with a 2:02.168s. The effort saw them cross the finish line in 7th place overall. The team also took first place in the Pro-Am class, a testament to their talent and hard work.

The reliability and performance of the KW Solid Piston Technology was demonstrated on track, with half of the top six finishers running on KW Racing Suspension. The Manthey EMA Porsche GT3 R made a successful return to Mount Panorama, finishing in second place. The BMW M4 GT3 race cars from BMW Works Team WRT also made an impressive Bathurst debut, finishing fourth and sixth.

The final laps of the race were a nail-biting battle for victory, with just 1.4 seconds separating the top three. In the end, Jules Gounon in the Mercedes-AMG took the win by a mere 0.9267 seconds over Matt Campbell in the ‘Grello’ GT3 R, with Maro Engel following closely behind in third place. The finish was the closest in 12-hour history, adding to the excitement of the event.

As part of the partnership between KW and Scuderia Autoart, the iconic "Chase" section was renamed for the third year in a row to the " KW Suspensions Chase”. As the GT race cars approached this challenging section at high speeds, the combination of the braking zone and the left-hander made for exciting overtaking opportunities. The KW, BBS, and Scuderia Autoart logos were prominently displayed, providing a special backdrop for the on-track action.

Scuderia Autoart's team leader, Alessio Iera, was overflowing with pride and excitement about the results of the race. He brokered the deal with the privateer team and was humbled by their performance and hospitality, saying that all members of the Scuderia Autoart team felt welcomed and at home. Looking to the future, Alessio can't wait for the opportunity to continue our involvement in next year's race.

At Scuderia Autoart, we are committed to supporting and promoting motorsports, and our sponsorship of the iconic Chase corner further solidifies this commitment. Our passion for the sport shines through in everything we do, and we are honoured to be a part of the ever-growing and exciting Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour race.
