B12HR Wrap Up: Manthey EMA Porsche Achieves Comeback Win at Mount Panorama

The Grello’s victory at the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour was nothing short of spectacular, bringing Porsche back to glory with the 992 GT3 R from Manthey EMA equipped with KW V6 Racing suspension.

Scuderia Autoart and KW Suspension were extremely proud to take part in this year’s event as major sponsors and see KW motorsport customers succeed at one of the world’s toughest racetracks.

Despite a hard-fought race due to mixed conditions, strategic hurdles, and fierce competition, the amazing triumph by Matt Campbell and co-drivers Laurens Vanthoor and Ayhancan Güven underscored a thrilling event at Mount Panorama this Sunday as they guided Manthey EMA to a thrilling win in a race full of challenges, denying Jules Gounon a record fourth consecutive victory.

The race witnessed intense battles and strategic maneuvers, with Porsche ultimately securing a dominant one-four finish overall and Manthey EMA clinching both Pro and Pro-Am victories as the #911 The Bend Manthey EMA 991 GT3 R piloted by Alessio Picariello/Yasser Shahin/Harry King also won its class. The Phantom Global 992 GT3 R almost moved up to P2 with a late lunge on the SunEnergy1 AMG at the 'KW Suspensions Chase' in the final minutes but finished fourth after the tight battle for second dropped them out of the podium, but still setting the fastest lap with 02:02.9897.

On a track that leaves no room for mistakes, the 2024 B12HR delivered. After a very promising Saturday with a stunning lap by Sheldon Van Der Linde that put the #32 BMW on pole, a strong start to the race followed for Team WRT until Charles Weerts collided with the GT4 Ginetta, resulting in an early retirement.

The #46 BMW with Valentino Rossi, Maxime Martin, and Raffaele Marciello put on a show as they did a comeback up to fourth with 30 minutes to go but ultimately finishing fifth after an intense 4-car battle for P2 in the dying stages.

With 47,333 fans attending this year’s race, the event was greatly successful and marked another exciting chapter at the mountain. Together with KW Suspension, Scuderia Autoart congratulates the entire Manthey EMA team on this remarkable achievement and look forward to a successful year ahead bringing race-winning suspension technology to Australia.
