B12HR 2024: Scuderia Autoart Partners with KW Suspension as Major Sponsors

KW Suspensions and Scuderia Autoart renew their role as major sponsors of the 2024 Repco Bathurst 12-hour for the fourth consecutive edition

This weekend the engines roar to life at the crack of dawn in Bathurst. It’s finally time again: the spectacular Bathurst 12 Hour race in Australia brings together some of the world’s fastest and most renowned racing drivers to Mount Panorama Circuit.

KW’s successful motorsport customers will be there, as the BMW and Porsche GT3 teams along with their prominent driver line-ups are among the favourites for the 2024 race. For the 2024 event, seven GT3 racing cars and one GT4 racing car will start the Intercontinental GT Challenge with homologated KW Racing dampers, as more and more car manufacturers worldwide rely on the KW technology for their customer motorsport programmes.

The special thing about Mount Panorama is that the track leaves no room for mistakes despite being partly a public road. The race cars have a tarmac roller coaster to tackle, with heavy uphill and downhill gradients throughout 6.2 kilometres. One of the most spectacular sections of the track is "The KW suspensions Chase" at the end of the Conrod Straight’s high-speed passage, being the best combination of curves to set up an overtake with late breaking on the narrow track. The abundance of racing action gets the adrenaline pumping every year when the lights go out, and 2024 will be no exception.

BMW M Team WRT is back again in Australia with their eyes set on the podium, fielding two M4 GT3 race cars equipped with KW Racing Dampers. The MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi will pair up with Maxime Martin and Raffaele Marciello in the #46 M4 GT3 while team-mates Sheldon van der Linde, Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts will be in the yellow # 32 BMW.

The 992-generation Porsche 911 GT3 R, also homologated with KW V6 Racing dampers as its predecessor 991, will make its Bathurst debut this year. The 2019-winner and Australian Matt Campbell will race along Laurens Vanthoor and Ayahancan Güven in the green and yellow #912 Grello from Manthey EMA after finishing second last year, while Alessio Picariello, Harry King and Yasser Shahin will share the cockpit in the red and white "The Bend Manthey EMA" GT3 R #911. Bernhards’ Team 75 in partnership with Phantom Global Racing will celebrate its first endurance outing in Australia with the #13 Porsche 911 piloted by Bastian Buus, Jaxon Evans, and Joel Eriksson, as the three 992 GT3 Rs look to put on the fight for victory.

KW motorsport customer teams are far from new to winning. A look at the DTM statistics alone proves how successful KW motorsport customers are worldwide. The M4 GT3 and 911 GT3 R have won the 2022 and 2023 DTM titles using V6 Racing Dampers, with a KW-equipped race car on the podium in 13 out of 16 races since DTM changed to GT3 regulations. Both teams now looking to bring their DTM success to the mountain.

All of KW’s racing success and heritage is transferred to its bespoke aftermarket suspension kits with industry-leading technology. KW Suspension is officially available in Australia through Scuderia Autoart as the exclusive KW Australian partner, enabling Australian car enthusiasts to equip their vehicle with being the perfect suspension for every demand.

As major sponsors for the Bathurst 12-hour 2023 race, Scuderia Autoart and KW Suspension are extremely proud to be a part of the Bathurst 12-hour 2024 race and look forward to continuing their involvement in Australian motorsports for the years to come.

Tune in this weekend and enjoy 12 hours of pure racing action as the GT World Challenge season kicks off at Mount Panorama.
