Akrapovič Launches New Lightweight Exhaust For The BMW M3 And M4

Akrapovič has added to its already impressive array of exhaust systems and carbon-fibre accessories for BMW cars with the launch of the Slip-On Line (Titanium) and rear carbon-fibre diffuser for the latest M3 (G80) and M4 (G82).

Innovative and revolutionary design has gone into developing this exhaust, which thrills the senses and shows Akrapovič again pushing the boundaries of exhaust technology and exhibiting its capabilities to the full.

Constructed from race-proven materials, this high-grade, lightweight titanium system, finished with hand-crafted carbon-fibre tailpipes, is an exhaust that matches the ethos of cars born on the racetrack.

The complete use of lightweight materials has produced an exhaust that weighs in at 35% lighter than the standard stock system and features a pair of collectors cast in the Akrapovič foundry. The Slip-On Line (Titanium) comes with a specially developed Akrapovič control kit for a complete sound experience.

The sound character offers a rich tone at normal cruising, rising to a deep sporty sound when the M3/M4 is driven more dynamically. It serves up a perfect sound at all rpms, delivering comfort and sportiness in one exhaust.

An attractive new design for the tailpipes finishes this exhaust perfectly. A ground-breaking octagonal shape has been fashioned from lightweight titanium with a carbon-fibre outer sleeve, and for more traditional buyers there is the classic cylindrical design, also constructed from the same materials, but featuring an update to the current range of tailpipes for BMW cars available from Akrapovič.

For extra visual impact, there is the option of adding a hand-crafted carbon-fibre diffuser. Produced in-house, this lightweight accessory – with ABE type approval – is designed to show off the tailpipes of the Akrapovič exhaust at their absolute best.

Performance from the Slip-On Line (Titanium) is another factor, with a power increase of 8.0 kW (10.9 hp) at 6,000 rpm and a torque gain of 13.9 Nm at 5,000 rpm when tested on the Akrapovič dyno against a BMW M4 Competition with a standard stock exhaust.

Remapping is not needed for this configuration, and it meets ECE type approval conditions for cars with OPF filters. The enhanced performance further enriches the system’s capabilities, adding to the innovative design, amazing sound, and impressive looks, making this a product that is right at the forefront of exhaust technology.
