Novitec Ferrari F8 Spyder

Design and performance: Those are the key features of the refinement range of NOVITEC for the Ferrari F8 Spyder.

A sporty designer outfit made from lightweight yet high-strength naked carbon and tailor-made wheels up to 22 inches in diameter on the rear axle makes the open-top sports car even more exceptional.

The NOVITEC engine specialists developed various performance upgrades for the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine with outputs of up to 590 kW / 802 hp, which sling the two-seater to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds on the way to a new top speed of over 340 km/h.

The NOVITEC range also features high-performance exhaust systems in various variants including the superlight INCONEL version with 999 fine-gold plating, sports springs and a hydraulic front lift system as well as exclusive cockpit refinement options.

For decades, the NOVITEC designers have had a wealth of knowledge and a delicate touch when it comes to making the world’s most exciting sports cars even more thrilling. At the same time, aerodynamic efficiency is a top priority. The new bodywork conversion for the Ferrari F8 Spyder is the latest example of NOVITEC once more consistently following this philosophy. The material of choice is carbon. The precise-fit components can be painted in body colour or can be ordered in a naked-carbon version with a high-gloss coating. The face of the powerful mid-engine sports car is visually enhanced with a two-piece front spoiler.

What is more: This upgrade also reduces aerodynamic front-axle lift, which optimizes the handling stability at high speeds. The NOVITEC carbon insert for the front fascia borrows from the winged look of current Formula 1 racecars. Carbon flaps on both sides of the bumper direct the airflow even more precisely into the cooling air intakes. Further racing-look upgrades are the NOVITEC insert for the hood, the panel in front of the windshield as well as the door handles and the NOVITEC side mirrors, whose design is likewise modelled after modern Grand Prix racecars.

The NOVITEC rocker panels give the sports car with folding hardtop a lower and sleeker visual stance. Carbon inserts for the air intakes behind the doors direct the airflow even more specifically to the radiators and air filters. The German refinement specialist also gives the rear of the F8 Spyder an even sportier touch with an understated carbon spoiler lip. Alternatively, NOVITEC offers a larger rear spoiler in ducktail design or a rear wing for this Ferrari. There are also various upgrades available for the rear fascia such as naked-carbon trim for the production diffuser and as an option a complete carbon-fibre NOVITEC diffuser with redesigned fins. Vehicles equipped ex-factory with a backup camera can be enhanced with a carbon surround for this useful feature.

There is a pure racing look to admire from the bird’s-eye view as well: NOVITEC offers the engine cover with integrated ventilation slots as well as the panel that sits behind it also in a naked-carbon version.

Wheels designed specifically for the Ferrari F8 round off the unusual NOVITEC design. NOVITEC developed tailor-made tire/wheel combinations also for the Spyder in cooperation with Vossen, the American specialist for hi-tech forged rims. To add even more emphasis to the wedge shape of the two-seater, the rear axle uses wheels with a diameter one inch larger than at the front.

The vehicle pictured here is fitted with the NOVITEC NF10 design featuring five filigree twin-spokes and a hub cover in a centre-lock look. NOVITEC selected “Satin Bronze” from the wide range of available Vossen colours to add stark contrast to the black paint finish and the carbon components. Thanks to the use of hi-tech forging and machining technology, these rims are very light despite offering maximum strength and their large dimensions of 9Jx21 at the front and 12Jx22 on the rear axle. The high-performance tires of sizes 255/30 ZR 21 and 335/25 ZR 22 perfectly fill out the available space under the wheel arches.

A special NOVITEC development that further optimizes the F8 Spyder’s daily practicality is the hydraulic suspension system. The front end of the car can be raised by 40 millimetres at the touch of a button in the cockpit to be able to navigate curbs or parking garage ramps. The front end reverts to its original position at another touch of the button or automatically upon reaching a speed of 80 km/h. The NOVITEC sports springs represent yet another suspension option. They lower the open-top version of the Ferrari F8 by about 35 millimetres and thus further optimize the handling thanks to the lowered centre of gravity.

As is a successful tradition at NOVITEC, there is also engine tuning for the F8 Spyder with immediate effect. While the inner workings of the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine remain untouched, the peripherals are modified in different expansion stages. The currently most powerful NOVITEC expansion stage for the hardtop racer ups peak power by 60 kW / 82 hp and produces a peak torque higher by 120 Nm. With 590 kW / 802 hp at 8,000 rpm and 898 Nm at a low 3,100 rpm, the open-top two-seater sprints from zero to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds. From rest, the NOVITEC-tuned sports car reaches 200 km/h after 7.8 seconds. The top speed increases to over 340 km/h.

To achieve this kind of performance and improved acceleration in any driving situation, the German refinement specialist installs a NOVITEC N-TRONIC control module for each bank of cylinders. They introduce specially calibrated mapping for injection and ignition to the electronic engine control unit and upgrade the electronic boost pressure control as well.

Just as indispensable for optimal power delivery is the engine’s ability to breathe out more freely. To this end, NOVITEC developed the NOVITEC high-performance exhaust system and 100-cell metal catalysts. The completely thermally insulated system comes with or without actively controlled exhaust flaps.

What is more: The installation of the INCONEL variant is advisable for F8 owners who wish not only for sound and maximum power but also for weight savings for their car. This high-end alloy is also used in Formula 1 racing to fabricate exhaust systems. To optimize the heat dissipation further, this system is additionally available with 999 fine-gold plating.

NOVITEC offers exclusive refinement options for the interior of the F8 Spyder as well. Leather/Alcantara appointments tailored to the customer’s individual wishes in every detail can be crafted from materials of the highest quality in any colour imaginable.
