Akrapovic Introduces Titanium Exhaust System for Porsche 911 (992) GT3

Akrapovič’s latest offering is a piece of technology and engineering innovation directly from the racing world and features a product that the company has not used before in the aftermarket car exhaust sector.

These totally new Slip-On Race Line (Titanium)* and Evolution Header Set (Titanium)* designs for the Porsche 911 GT3 (992) are intended for use on closed-course competition circuits only because they are racetrack-oriented packages. They have been created through years of evolutionary development and manufacturing of aftermarket exhaust systems for various 911 models from the 996 series onward. They also stem from Akrapovič’s involvement in the racing world, which included the 2008 victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours on the legendary Nordschleife with Manthey-Racing’s Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, fitted with a lightweight titanium exhaust system, confirming the performance and durability of the product.

The Slip-On Race Line (Titanium) and Evolution Header Set (Titanium) have been developed solely for the 911 GT3 (992), with this new design constructed from high-grade titanium, which is sandblasted and coated for durability. The twin tailpipes of the Slip-On Race Line (Titanium) have six imprints on the inner sleeve to match the six-cylinder engine and an engraved Akrapovič logo for an added visual effect. The exhaust valves have been perfectly tailored to the gas flow to produce a smooth rich tone at normal cruising and a sporty sound experience at higher revs.

The Evolution Header Set (Titanium) showcases special manifold crossover pipes in the headers. This innovative design comes directly from race-proven exhaust systems for motorcycles, and this is the first time it has featured in an Akrapovič aftermarket car exhaust. This masterpiece of engineering is designed to optimize the performance of the Slip-On Race Line (Titanium) exhaust system. Like the innovative crossover sections, many parts in the system are cast in the in-house foundry, and the complete use of titanium provides a weight saving over the stock equivalent. Tuned quarter-length resonators in addition to the catalytic converters ensure there is no distortion or unwanted frequencies, creating a unique sound experience.

The combination of an Akrapovič Slip-On Race Line (Titanium) and Evolution Header Set (Titanium) provides increases of 16.6 kW (22.6 hp) in power at 4,550 rpm and 35.2 Nm in torque at 4,500 rpm, when tested on the Akrapovič dyno against a Porsche 911 GT3 (992) with a standard stock exhaust, with the entire package providing a weight saving of 35% (10.7 kg) over the stock arrangement.
